Dulce Vida Mt. Bike & Adventure Co. is Vieques
Island, Puerto Rico's original mountain
bike tour operator. We've been exploring the island by knobby
tire for more than ten years
and know the trails almost as
well as the local Brahma bulls.
Vieques
is riddled with miles of muddy trails, hidden beaches, and awesome
views. The best way to get to all of these is on a specially
outfitted mountain bikes.
These front suspension, aluminum frame mountain bikes will get you
up or down anywhere you want to go on Vieques Island. We've
retrofitted each ride with extreme flat protection and our own blend
of element repellents.
Our tours for both first-timers and old pros mix
fun and challenging trails with virgin beaches and views only previously
enjoyed by wild cows and horses. Our high end service customizes
each ride to the ability of our guests. The average group size is
2-4 people, and the ride is more of an interpretive
nature tour than
a fast-paced bike ride. We stop every few minutes to talk about the
plants, animals, and cultural areas that show themselves along our
route.
As of 2005, we are certified Interpretive Tour Guides for Vieques Island by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.

A private tour can take you from the archeological
site "Vieques Stonehenge" to some of the most beautiful and hardest
to reach (by car) beaches on the island. We know every twist and
turn of technical single-track and can guide you through a maze of
mud and thorns or glide you across the malecon for a simple beach
ride and some local eats.
For mountain bike rentals, contact Garry Lowe. He's got a new fleet of Treks and is making deliveries to all major hotels and guesthouses. Rentals start at $25/day and include delivery to major guesthouses and trail tools.
